Abstract:
Traditional handicraft in India is now a way to support sustainable development, create jobs, and boost economic growth in rural areas. Indian handicrafts are gaining popularity each day due to their beauty, creativity and skilful craftsmanship. The roots of the Indian handicraft industry lie in the cultural heritage of the country and has huge economic prospects. This study aims to examine three critical aspects of the handicraft sector, the awareness of artisans regarding marketing strategies, the available marketing opportunities for empowering artisans, and the financial challenges faced by them. By enhancing financial literacy and facilitating access to resources, this approach fosters entrepreneurial growth, reduces income disparities, and preserves cultural traditions. The research directions contribute to the financial empowerment and market opportunities leveraging the growth of handicraft industry.
